Kauai Resorts

Kauai resorts

Kauai resorts come in various sizes and locations. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where everything is taken care of for you, look no farther!

Kauai has plenty of well-known resorts.  In Lihue, on the east side of the island, there are the Hilton and the Marriott, centrally located for access to swimmable beaches on the north and the south shores. (Swimming on the eastern shore is for surfers only!)  In the sunny south-shore Poipu area, there are the Sheraton and the Grand Hyatt, right next to swimmable beaches.  And, of course, there are plenty more resorts with less familiar names.  To see what conditions are like in the north and south, check out my Kauai Cam page.

Just for you, my readers, I have sifted through a LOT of information available on the Internet and have distilled it, to provide you with a good idea of which hotels and condos on Kauai would please you the most. Remember, the shore location is important; the east side beaches generally aren't swimmable (hotels have pools), and the north side has higher waves in the winter.

Many individuals have left comments on the Internet and have rated their Kauai stays. Here are the top family hotels.

Hotel Rank Hotel Name Overall Visitor Rating, scale of 1 to 5 Nearest Shore Hotel Class
#1 for families  Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club 4.0 South, Poipu Four-star
#2 for families, also #4 for singles Marriott Kauai Resort & Beach Club, Lihue 4.0 East, Lihue Four-star
#3 for families, #2 for romance Grand Hyatt Kauai 4.5 South, Poipu Five-star
Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, Lihue 3.5 East, Lihue Four-star
Sheraton Kauai Resort, Poipu 3.5 South, Poipu Four-star
Hanalei Bay Resort, Princeville 4.0 North, Princeville Four-star
Garden Island Inn, Lihue 3.5 East, Lihue budget hotel

"Mahalo" is a Hawaiian greeting the hotel people like to use.  It is a blessing that also means "thank you."

Mahalo!
