Kauai
can provide your dream destination wedding. You can choose a Kauai wedding on the
beach, by a waterfall, at a beachfront chapel, or on a boat.
On Kauai there are plenty of secluded beaches.
One we stumbled across is Shipwreck Beach, east of Poipu. There are
plenty of secluded beaches on the west side of the island, where swimming is
not encouraged because of undertow, and on the east side, where the surf is
too high for most swimmers.
You can also have a garden wedding. There are
plenty of places that cater to this; after all, Kauai is the Garden Isle of
the Pacific. Kilohana Plantation offers different garden wedding
sites, for instance. At the mouth of the Wailua river is Kukui Heiau,
a sacred Hawaiian site that is open for weddings.
There are chapels too, for example the one
pictured--the Chapel by the Sea at Kauai Marriott Resort Hotel near Lihue.
For Elvis fans, there's a chapel at Coco Palms, site of the movie Blue
Hawaii. In addition, there are several picturesque
churches on the island that are available for weddings.
Don't forget to consider the Fern Grotto
wedding, in a cavelike spot on the Wailua River accessible only by boat.
Speaking of conveyances, Plantation Carriages
can provide you with a carriage ride to complement your wedding.
